Pats’ Food is a food blogging website that provides the latest blogs and information regarding living frugally and using whatever is available to you to make budget-friendly frugal meals. With rising prices and shortages of certain items from time to time, it is good to know ways or workaround food substitutes. This is covered in “food swaps”.

This blog provides detailed information, recipes, information on handling your finances, and a lot more. We will add new blogs frequently onto our website so you can stay up-to-date with helping you to live a more affordable and more financially viable lifestyle, without diminishing the little treats that you may be used to.

We are always very welcome to add contributors and the more help and support that we can provide members of the public, the better. A number of contributors mean a variety of cooking styles and ensure fresh ideas. Our primary focus is to ensure that we help people live a more affordable lifestyle, by pointing people in the right direction with how they spend their money on food.

The more contributors we get, naturally the more information we can provide. If you consider that you have some wholesome recipes or food ideas, or informative information that other people could benefit from, please feel free to click on the ADD post button in the top right corner of our website to start adding content right away. If you prefer that we add the content but you wish to submit it to us to publish, please email us or contact me directly on Facebook.

This website serves as a fantastic platform for you to share your favourite recipes, nifty money-saving advice, alternative places to shop, and much more.

Our website is divided up into multiple categories to ensure that you can easily navigate through our website content. We have a recipes category for you to easily find tasty yummy recipes so you can start cooking right away in your kitchen. These are categorised according to the type of recipe.

For the Vegetarians and Vegans amongst you, we are building on the Vegetarian and Vegan category. There is already a nice selection of recipes.

We also point people in the right direction who need help looking for the local food bank who are struggling financially. If you want to know how the Foodbank scheme works feel free to ask. As a Trussell Trust Foodbank volunteer and team leader, I am happy to point you in the right direction for help.

Here is the link if you wish to look into Foodbanks. You may of course wish to volunteer or donate.

As this website grows with its content, we hope that it serves as a useful resource to you and others to continuously benefit from in the future.

Feel free to share a link with us with anyone who may benefit. No need to ask! We want to reach out to as many people as possible. The recipes are printable or you may simply like to bookmark a page in your browser. The contributors to this website are happy for you to do so.

Maybe you or a friend are looking into reducing your outgoings, or maybe you’re simply looking to spend less money on your monthly food bill. The ideas we provide we hope are useful to bringing down your bills so that you can live a more affordable lifestyle without having to affect the quality of food that you eat.

Good quality fresh food can be bought at affordable prices, to suit your budget, if you know where to shop and how to shop. some things are obvious but others are not.

There are many food blogs, recipes and TV programmes based around frugal eating. Most of them are aimed at much higher budgets than the ones we deal with on a daily basis. Some people will tell you to go foraging. Whilst that is a great idea for some people you need knowledge on this subject and need to live in a suitable environment for it to be possible. It is a great bonus but is not going to give you a hot meal with little effort from fairly basic ingredients.

If you have food questions or need immediate help with a recipe do visit the Facebook group Feed Yourself For £1 a day.
