Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! The time when many people set up unrealistic goals of course.

Now I won’t try to put you off goals but how about small challenges instead? Things that you can achieve?

Some of the things I do:

A full budget (I do it again when the bills come in for April) but guesstimate meanwhile on anything likely to go up. ME has a good one.

A checkup of when tax MOT etc, is due on my car

Check the tyres, washers, etc etc

A bit of cupboard stock rotation

A no spend January except of course necessities. Things that are non negotiable.

If you have a new diary for Christmas, note down all of your spending every time to shop online or at the shops.

Have one new non flexible rule-just one.

Plan trips so you don’t waste time and fuel. Fit one thing in with another. I find that people are now used to people doing that, even when buying things second-hand.

Withdraw some cash and use that for your shop. Leave your cards at home.

Do a meal plan. It doesn’t need to be for a month. 3 days is good enough. Just add on another day each time a day goes past.

Plan around what you have in. Just buy the extras. Never run out of your herbs and spices. They turn something plain into something really tasty.

I hope that starts you off.
