Based on Aldi tonight for £19.60 so 70p per person per day…
Should feed a family of 2 adults and 2 younger children… this is to be used as a base that others can add to if they have extra to spend!
If they don’t then at least everyone will have three meals a day as sadly keep seeing so many posts about people missing meals 😢
Breakfast:
2 days of cereal with milk
4 days toast with butter/Jam/cream cheese
1-day crumpets/Jam
Lunch:
2 days of spaghetti hoops on toast
2 days: scrambled egg on toast
3 days of homemade veg soup
(2 Onion, 500g swede and carrot mix, half bag of parsnips, blended in cooking water)
(add a stock cube if you have any)
Dinner:
Sunday: Giant Yorkshire pudding roast
(A dinner plate size Yorkshire pudding with the dinner inside it)
(4 eggs, 200ml milk, flour, 4 Chicken drumsticks, 3 potatoes for roast, half bag of parsnips, 2 carrots, and gravy )
Monday: chicken with savoury rice
(6 Chicken drumsticks, rice, onion, 1 third rd bag of mixed veg, chick stock (made with chicken cooked yesterday)
Tuesday: sausage & mash with peas
(10 sausages, 3 potatoes, peas, and gravy)
Wednesday: Vegetable korma and rice
(Onion, 2 potatoes, chickpeas, 2 carrots, curry sauce, rice)
Thursday spaghetti bolognese
(Half of the mince, 1 carrot, onion, tinned tomato and tomato purée, pack of spaghetti)
Friday: Toad in the hole, mixed veg, and gravy
(10 Sausages, flour, 4 egg, 200ml milk, one-third bag mixed veg, and gravy)
Saturday: Cottage pie, mix veg and gravy
(Half mince, onion, gravy, 3 potatoes, one-third bag of mixed veg)
Snacks and juice:
Double strength cordial
Pears
Plums
Biscuits
Children’s Yogurts
Crackers with butter or cream cheese
