I’ve cost up these homemade pot noodles in a jar at 35p each based on the following ingredients, six jars in all.
The bowl is to give you an idea of how much comes out of a cram-packed jar, and it’s a lot.
Ingredients
- Five packs of smart price noodles = £1
- 1\2 a tin of smart price sweet corn = 17p
- One bag of bamboo shoots = 60p
- I don’t like the flavour packets the noodles come with so I added some veg stock cubes and a little Miso = 12p
- 18th of a bag of spinach = 17p
- 1 large carrot shaved using a potato peeler = 3p
- Chilli flakes and seasonings = 3p
* Heatproof jars:
Method
- Cook your noodles
- Steam or microwave your veg ( keep the spinach raw)
- Layer
- Cool
- Refrigerate

Add hot water when ready to eat.
This is otherwise vegetarian, but you can add meat if you wish.
You can add leftover meat and veg to these and basically put in what you want including rice noodles if you are gluten intolerant.
