Shopping During Lockdown

Whilst Lockdown continues to keep us safe at home it seems a lot of shops are now restocked and there are only shortages of certain items.

The items generally not available are mainly flour, yeast and eggs.

Some tips on Home ~Deliveries

Some people are lucky and get home delivery. If you do-please make the most of it and if you can afford to shop for two weeks rather than one it saves a slot for someone else.

Alternatively, try to split your delivery with a friend or neighbour-dropping off their food at their door and no contact. Today’s bank transfers and PayPal make this easy.

This again means only one delivery and frees up a slot for someone else who may even need it more than you do. Most stores have greatly increased their deliveries so some people find there are slots available but it really does vary from one area to another.

Try to get yourself a little treat to make life more normal-especially for children. A bar of chocolate or crisps can help.

When ordering, check your order the day before online to make amendments for anything not available-this will make a huge difference to the number of missing items.

The stock levels change every day and what is available when you place your order may not be available the day before so look for alternatives last minute.

There are lots of recipes for bread using SR flour for those who cannot get bread flour and yeast. We just have to look at alternatives sometimes

.Try to use a stock cupboard alternative rather than going to the shops if you can. Spread out those trips only when necessary.
