With the price of butter and other spreads rising rapidly many people are looking for alternatives.
This is easy and the ingredients are really simple.
You will need:
A mixing bowl
Balloon whisk or electric mixer
spatula
Ingredients
250g of butter. salted or unsalted. Real butter not any other type of spread
Salt if desired
Vegetable oil/sunflower oil/rapeseed oil
Method
250g of butter-allow to go soft in a warm room(do not microwave)
Approx 120 ml of veg oil/sunflower oil/olive oil-it is up to you. You may wish to use more for a softer spread but best to start off with this quantity.
Beat the soft butter and the oil together until fully combined using either a balloon whisk or a hand mixer
Put the butter into a container. One that previously contained a spread or a takeaway type one and chill in the fridge.
If this does not spread easily enough from chilled add another 20 ml next time until it is exactly to your liking.
