Ingredients
- 3 large onions
- A handful of fresh coriander
- 500g of minced beef or meat of your choice
- Half a teaspoon each, of cumin, black pepper, chilli powder, salt and cinnamon for the meatballs
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of bread crumbs
- 3 medium carrots chopped
- 1 400 g tin of chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 each of a teaspoon of salt, black pepper, cinnamon powder, cumin, ground coriander, chilli powder for the sauce
- 250 g of frozen peas
Method
- In a food processor add 2 onions, a handful of coriander and 1 green chilli pulse until chopped)
- Put this into a mixing bowl in a bowl
- Add your preferred choice of mince
- Add 1/2 a teaspoon of cumin, black pepper, chilli powder, salt, cinnamon
- Add 1 small egg
- Add 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- Mix together using your hands
- Make them into bitesize kofte balls
- Place in the oven until golden brown making sure you brown both sides. 200 degrees
- When the meatballs are cooked, set them aside
- Fry one large onion until translucent
- Add 3 chopped Carrots to a frying pan and fry for a further 3 minutes
- Blend one tin of chopped tomatoes and add on top
- Add 1/2 a teaspoon of salt, black pepper, cinnamon powder, cumin, ground coriander, chilli powder
- Close lid and leave to simmer for 30 minutes
- Add 1/4 pack of peas
- Add your kofte balls
- Leave on medium heat for 15 minutes 1
- Garnish with coriander
- Enjoy!
