Easy Peasy Dumplings

Vegetable stew and dumplings

Easy Peasy dumplings – no sticky hands!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz SR flour
  • 1 tablespoon veg oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 teaspoons dried Herbs of your choice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water

Method

  • Put flour and baking powder into a bowl, mix together, and drizzle in the oil slowly.
  • Mash it into the flour with a fork.
  • Keep mashing and stirring until you see it looks like crumble. Add your dried herbs Add a little salt and pepper
  • Gradually stir in water until you have a stiff dough.
  • Roll it into a ball with the fork Using a knife and fork, cut in in half Then cut in half again then each piece in half until you have 8 pieces.
  • You can lift up each piece and pop it in your stew without touching or you can roll each into a ball if you prefer. I hate sticky hands and don’t care what shape my dumplings are!

Love the dumpling recipe, I must admit I usually buy a packet mix. No longer, by the look of yours. I too hate sticky fingers with a vengeance, and have always made dumplings using a knife! No contact, my son uses the same method.
    Thanks for posting.
