A nice savoury snack or something to add to a lunch box. Mature cheese works well as does Vintage. Any brand of oats so Value ranges work just as well as the branded ones.
You could even add a sprinkle of chilli powder if you feel inclined.
Ingredients
- 200g of porridge oats
- 200g of plain flour
- 50g of fried dried onions
- 150g of grated mature cheddar cheese
- 150g of oil
- 1\2 teaspoon of salt
- 1\2 teaspoon of white pepper
- 2 to 3 tablespoons of water
Method
- Put everything into a bowl apart from the water and mix well.
- Add the water a table spoon at a time till when you squeeze it together it holds together without falling apart.
- To measure out each biscuit mixture, I used a baking measuring 1\4 cup.
- Wet your hands, roll into a ball and then flattern.
- Put on a baking tray covered in parchment paper.
- Put in a hot oven at 200 fan for 25 minutes.
- Cool on a cooling rack.
You have now made biscuits.
It’s good to have soup instead of bread. These are like a meal in themselves, and each biscuit is very filling.
