Lebanese Spiced Rice with Lamb

Ingredients

Vermicelli

2 cups of rice

vegetable stock powder

A little salt

Boiling water

500g minced lamb

1 large onion

Bay leaf

2 cinnamon sticks

4 cardamom pods

1/4 pack of peas

2 tsp of 7 Spice

salt to taste

1 tsp of vegetable stock powder

Method

1. Fry 1 cup of broken vermicelli until golden brown (optional)

2. Add two cups of rinsed rice

3. Add 1/2 tsp of vegetable stock powder and a pinch of salt.

4. Add boiling water making sure it covers the rice

5. Bring to the boi,l then simmer until water has absorbed

6. Lower heat and leave for a further 10 minutes

Step 2

1. Fry 1 large onion with 1 Bay leaf,2 cinnamon sticks, 4 cardamom pods

2. Add 500g of minced lamb and fry for 7 minutes

3. Add 1/4 pack of peas

4. 2 tsp of 7 Spice salt to taste and 1 tsp of vegetable stock powder

5. Mix ingredients, and close the lid to leave on medium heat for 20 minutes

6. Empty mince on top of rice and mix
